I first started practicing yoga in April of 2009. The practice of mind-body connection on the mat allowed me to practice being in the present off the mat.
I received my 200-hour in February 2011 and enjoy teaching Vinyasa. The creative space of a Vinyasa class guides practitioners to stay in the moment. It also allows them to focus on the feeling of the poses more than the appearance of the poses.
I am a firm believer that mindful breathing is all it takes for any practice. Paying attention to proper alignment, I also emphasize the function or purpose of a pose or sequence. I love to incorporate flexibility, strength, and balance in every class. In my classes, you can expect to have an indulgent space to explore the connection between your mind, body, and breath.
Two of my favorite mantras are:
“Inhale, exhale, repeat.”
“This is temporary.”
