I work to build and strengthen communities through the arts. In addition to teaching yoga in the styles of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin, I also teach paddleboard yoga and kids’ yoga, and have led teacher training workshops and retreats.
While working as a professional singer/songwriter and music teacher, I was first introduced to yoga and started to recognize the power of the integration of these disciplines. Soon after discovering my passion for yoga, I completed my RYT 200 and RYT 500 with Johnny Kest and Jason Hulshof. In the discipline of Hatha yoga, I became an internationally recognized and awarded Master Teacher and Yoga Faculty. Later through my studies with Jafar Alexander and Vasanthi Srinivasan, I became a master RCYT, offering programs of study for children and youth in schools and retreat centers all over the county, including my work as Director of Music Together at Sunset Hills Montessori School in Reston, VA.
In my classes, I integrate the power of music and movement to transform and heal the mind, body, and spirit. My classes are known for being challenging, yet my teaching reflects an intuitive understanding of my students’ potential to transform and heal. Students often find themselves singing, crying, laughing, and dancing on their path to self-discovery and awareness.
