I had been encouraging my mom to try yoga as her form of movement since she lived a very high-stress lifestyle and was beginning to feel the effects of that. She started taking classes at a studio nearby and loved it. I promised I would join her for a class and well… the rest is history. It’s safe to say that I loved it too.
I have experience teaching a variety of classes, mostly based on Ashtanga. I have taught foundations of flow yoga, hot power Vinyasa, hot Vinyasa, slow flow, Yin, gentle, and Rocket-inspired classes. My teaching style is very laid-back. I lean heavily on the idea that as a yoga teacher, I offer the practicing yogi suggestions, but it is up to them what they choose to do with them. I encourage taking ownership of one’s personal practice to promote growth. I do my best to cultivate a safe space that supports exploration and fun. Yoga does not have to be serious.
My favorite part about teaching yoga is the community aspect. I am in a position where I can watch people support each other while also gaining confidence in themselves. I see you. No matter what, I’m always rooting for you. You are capable of so much more than you realize.
